Steel doors, Iron doors, metal doors, they go by several different names. They are all virtually the same product with a few variations. Most doors with scroll work will be called iron or wrought iron. The more modern style with slim profiles and maximum glass they will call steel, French steel or euro steel. I like to just go by what they are made of (Steel). Steel doors are incredibly strong. Some would even say they are overbuilt for residential applications. Needless to say they have become incredibly popular. If you like the ornamental scroll work or are looking for that super modern look with maximum glass for viewability steel doors are the way to go. One big issue with steel doors is lead times. If they have to be custom ordered it can take 4-5 months. We work with local vendors that carry stock so we have quick lead times. usually 4-6 weeks. We can always custom order any design you like but we try to show you what's available locally first.
